Share price of this small-cap stock jumped by nearly 3.8 percent on BSE to Rs. 309 in the morning trading session of Thursday, from its previous close of Rs. 297.8, after the company announced incorporating a wholly-owned subsidiary. 

With a market capitalisation of Rs. 9,239 crores, at 11:41 a.m. the shares of Genus Power Infrastructures Limited were trading in the green at Rs. 304.15, up by 2.13 percent. 

According to recent regulatory filings with the stock exchanges, Genus Power Infrastructures Limited has incorporated a wholly-owned subsidiary, namely “Genus Alfa Smart Metering Private Limited”. 

The company is incorporated as WOS for the execution of Advanced Metering Infrastructure Service Provider (AMISP) contract. 

The registered office of the wholly-owned subsidiary of the company is situated in the state of Rajasthan and is engaged in the manufacturing of all types of smart, advanced or prepaid meters. 

In terms of financials, the company’s revenue from operations grew by 28.8 percent from Rs. 200.4 crores in Q3 FY22-23 to Rs. 258.28 crore in Q3 FY23-24. However, the company witnessed a decline in net profit by 145.5 percent from Rs. 21.79 crore in Q3 FY22-23 to a loss of Rs. 9.92 crore in Q3 FY23-24. 

The return on capital employed (ROCE) fell by 2.98 percent from 9.76 percent in FY21-22 to 6.78 percent in FY22-23, while the return on equity (RoE) was 2.95 percent in FY22-23, down by 3.05 percent from 6 percent in FY21-22. 

As of March 2024, FIIs hold 16.87 percent of the shares, whereas DIIs hold 5.01 percent of the shares in the company, aggregating to 21.88 percent of the institutional holdings. 

In the last one year, the company has delivered about 240.8 percent of multibagger returns and nearly 21.5 percent of positive returns in the last six months. So far in 2024, it has delivered positive returns of around 30.4 percent. 

Genus Power Infrastructures Limited, an integral part of Kailash Group, is engaged in power infrastructure and distribution industry/business, manufacturing and providing Metering and Metering Solutions and undertaking Engineering, Construction and Contracts on a turnkey basis (core business division).
