The share price of this electrical engineering company fell 10 percent lower circuit to an intraday low of Rs 4,760 apiece on Thursday after the firm’s net profits dropped by 52 percent for the quarter ended 31st June 2025.

Share price movement: With a market capitalization of Rs 5,380.40 crores the shares of Bharat Bijlee Limited closed in red at Rs 4,760.10 apiece.  The shares of this firm generated both multi-bagger returns of 160 percent over the past year and 108 percent over the past 6 months.

Results: As per the financials of Bharat Bijlee Limited on a QoQ basis, the revenue from operations decreased by 36 percent from Rs 587.47 crores in Q4FY24 to Rs 374.76 crores in Q1FY25. Also, The net profits of the firm decreased from Rs 48.53 crores to Rs 23.93 crores for the same period demonstrating a 52 percent fall.

Examining the financials of Bharat Bijlee Limited on a YoY basis, the total revenue from operations decreased by 15 percent from Rs 441.45 crores in Q1FY24 to Rs 374.76 crores in Q1FY25. The net profits decreased by 8 percent from Rs 25.33 crores to Rs 23.93 crores in the same time frame.

For the segment wise revenue from operations ,  revenue from the segment power systems fell by 51 percent from Rs 375.84 crores in Q4FY24 to Rs 183.54 crores in Q1FY25. Also for the same period the revenues generated from the segment Industrial systems fell by 10 percent from Rs 211.63 crores to Rs 191.22 crores.

Ratios and Borrowings : As for the return ratios in FY24 , the company generated a return of equity (ROE) of 7.04 percent and a Return of capital employed of 9.81 percent. The borrowings of the firm decreased by 45 percent from Rs 287 crores in FY23 to Rs 158 crores in FY24.

Shareholding Pattern: As of March 2024 Bharat Bijlee Limited’s shareholding pattern stood at 33.72 percent for promoters, 54.76  for the public, 2.32 percent for foreign institutional investors, and 9.20 percent for domestic institutional investors.
