The shares of the leading smart meter manufacturer hit 5 percent upper circuit of Rs 466.25 apiece after the company’s subsidiary received three letters of the award valued at Rs 4,469.04 crore.
With a market capitalization of Rs 14,162.55 crore, the shares of Genus Power Infrastructures Ltd were trading at Rs 466.25 crore, increasing around 5 percent as compared to the previous closing price of Rs 444.05 apiece.
Reason of Rise:-
Today the shares of the company have seen a bullish movement after Genus Power Infrastructures Ltd’s subsidiary wholly-owned subsidiary received three letters of award (LOA) worth totaling Rs. 4,469.04 crore (net of taxes) for the design of an Advance Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system with supply, installation, and commissioning with FMS of about 5.59 million Smart Prepaid Meters.

Moreover, the contracts encompass the full spectrum of AMI services, including the design, supply, installation, commissioning, and ongoing management of smart meters. These order wins underscore the strong confidence of company clients and show the capabilities and the superior quality of its offerings.
Financial condition:-
Looking into the company’s financial condition, revenue increased by 58 percent from Rs 261 crore in Q1FY24 to Rs 414 crore in Q1FY25, and during the same period, net profit magnified 121 percent from Rs 19 crore to Rs 42 crore.
Order Book & manufacturing plant:-
Over the past few weeks, Genus Power has won three major orders, cumulatively valued at Rs. 11,003.08 crore. This includes orders worth Rs. 2,925.52 crore & Rs. 3,608.52 crore won in the third week of August and an additional Rs. 4,469.04 crore secured now. These achievements bring its total order book to about Rs. 32,500 crore.
The company has manufacturing plants across Jaipur, Haridwar, and Guwahati with a total installed capacity of over 10 million meters, and the company also has a 27 percent market share in India’s electricity metering solutions industry.
