Shares of this small-cap jewellery stock rose approximately 3 percent on Wednesday after the company reported a remarkable 100 percent YoY increase in net profit, along with strong revenue growth in its latest quarterly results. 

Share Price Movement 

During Wednesday’s trading session, Motisons Jewellers Ltd’s share price increased by 2.6 percent, reaching an intra-day high of Rs.291.95 per share, up from the previous close of Rs.284.60 apiece. The shares have retreated since then and are trading at Rs.286.95 each. 

What Happened 

The bullish trend in Motisons Jewellers Ltd’s stock price reflects the company’s significant growth in revenue and net profit for the recent quarter. In its Q2 FY25 filing, the company reported a 21 percent YoY increase in revenue, reaching Rs.109 crore, up from Rs.90 crore in Q2 FY24, along with a 22 percent QoQ increase from Rs.89 crore in Q1 FY25. 

Net profit soared by 100 percent YoY to Rs.10 crore, compared to Rs.5 crore in Q2 FY24, and grew by 66 percent from Rs.6 crore in Q1 FY25. 

Return ratios demonstrate an ROCE of 16.6 percent and an ROE of 13.9 percent, supported by a strong current ratio of 3.87 and a low debt-to-equity ratio of 0.26.

Motisons offers an extensive jewelry collection that includes gold, diamond, Kundan, pearl, silver, and platinum pieces. They also provide gold and silver coins, utensils, and artifacts. Their designs cater to various occasions, featuring a blend of traditional and contemporary styles, with customization options available to meet individual preferences. 

Shareholding Pattern 

According to the September 2024 shareholding pattern, the promoters hold a 66 percent stake in Motisons Jewellers Ltd. Foreign Institutional Investors (FII) own 0.57 percent, while Domestic Institutional Investors (DII) and retail investors hold 0.40 percent and 33.03 percent, respectively.
