In the recent Union Budget 2025-26, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman highlighted the need to boost the productivity, quality, and competitiveness of India’s footwear and leather sector. The government will implement a focus product scheme. This scheme will support the design capacity, component manufacturing, and machinery needed for the production of both non-leather quality footwear and leather footwear products.
By improving these facilities, the scheme aims to improve the sector’s overall output. It is expected to generate employment for 22 lakh individuals, expected to generate a turnover of around Rs. 4 lakh crore. Additionally, the initiative is projected to increase exports, reaching over Rs. 1.1 lakh crore. This scheme will not only strengthen the domestic industry but also improve India’s position in the global footwear and leather markets. Here are some of the Indian Footwear stocks that can benefit from this initiative.
