With the increasing number of electric vehicles (EVs) and their end-of-life batteries, Recycling is an emerging issue that requires attention, as Batteries can cause pollution in various ways throughout their life cycle, from the mining of raw materials to the disposal of spent batteries. 

Usually, most of the battery manufacturing companies procure used, dead batteries from the vendors and recycle them to extract the minerals, cells, and other stuff from them, to ensure it doesn’t cause pollution and further be used in manufacturing new ones.

Here are some of the companies that recycle batteries that you can add to your watch list. 

Gravita India 

Gravita India Limited operates across four specialized verticals Lead Recycling (flagship), Aluminum recycling, Plastic recycling, and Turnkey projects. It has expertise in the recycling of used batteries, cable scrap, Plastic scrap, Lead scrap, Aluminum scrap, and others. 

With a market capitalization of Rs. 7,503 Crores, the shares of Gravita India Limited closed at Rs. 1,086.80, down 1.09 percent from its previous day’s close price of Rs. 1,098.75. 

Its revenue from operations declined by 3.92 percent from Rs. 789 Crores in Q3FY23 to Rs. 758 Crores in Q3FY24, accompanied by profits of Rs. 50 Crores to Rs. 61 Crores. 

Tata Chemicals 

Tata Chemicals Limited is a sustainable chemicals company, engaged in the manufacturing and supplying of chemistry and specialty products like soda ash, inorganic chemicals sodium bicarbonate, and many more, used across industries like automobile, agriculture, architecture, and many more. 

With a market capitalization of Rs. 28,837 Crores, the shares of Tata Chemicals Limited closed at Rs. 1,131.95, up 3.44 percent from its previous day’s close price of Rs. 1,094.30. 

Its revenue from operations declined by 10 percent from Rs. 4,148 Crores in Q3FY23 to Rs. 3,730 Crores in Q3FY24, accompanied by profits of Rs. 425 Crores to Rs. 195 Crores. 

Exide Industries 

Exide Industries is one of the leading global players in providing battery and charging solutions for various industries, such as automotive, motion, energy, and data centers. 

With a market capitalization of Rs. 27,344 Crores, the shares of Exide Industries Limited closed at Rs. 321.70, up 0.70 percent from its previous day’s close price of Rs. 319.45. 

Its revenue from operations grew by 12.49 percent from Rs. 3,538 Crores in Q3FY23 to Rs. 3,980 Crores in Q3FY24, accompanied by profits of Rs. 198 Crores to Rs. 203 Crores. 

Amara Raja Energy & Mobility 

Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Limited is one of the largest manufacturers of lead-acid batteries for both industrial and automotive applications in the Indian storage battery industry. It sells its batteries for automotive batteries and home inverter batteries under the brand name Amaron and PowerZone 

With a market capitalization of Rs. 14,814 Crores, the shares of Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Limited closed at Rs. 809.40, up 0.14 percent from its previous day’s close price of Rs. 808.30. 

Its revenue from operations declined by 9.25 percent from Rs. 2,637 Crores in Q3FY23 to Rs. 2,881 Crores in Q3FY24, accompanied by profits of Rs. 223 Crores to Rs. 240 Crores.
