Shares of Tata Motors Limited, the second-largest company in the Auto sector in India, closed at a price of Rs 513.80 which is around 0.45 percent up from the last trading levels of Rs 511.60. The company has a market capitalization of Rs 171,368 crores.
The stock hit a new 52-week high level on each day this week and on Friday, making it a streak of 5 continuous trading sessions, the stock touched its 52-week high mark at a price of Rs 520.50.
The Auto giant on Friday, declared its results pertaining to the fourth quarter as well as for the financial year 2022-2023 post trading hours. Details pertaining to the results are discussed later on in the report.
Moreover, the company announced a Final dividend of Rs 2 per ordinary share (100 percent of its face value) for FY22-23 after a period of 7 long years. For DVR shareholders, the company announced a Final dividend of Rs 2.1 per share.
Tata Motors Limited is an Automobile manufacturing company with its primary focus on segments comprising Tata Passenger Vehicles, Tata Commercial Vehicles, Jaguar Land Rover, and Vehicle Financing. Geographically, the company derives a majority of its revenue from domestic operations within the country.
Having a walkthrough of the consolidated financials reported, the operating revenues shifted up from Rs 88,489 crores during the December quarter v/s Rs 1,05,932 crores in the March quarter. Moreover, the PAT figures, during the same period, jumped from Rs 3,043 crores to Rs 5,496 crores exhibiting an increase of approximately 80 percent.
On a yearly basis, the company stayed inclined with the increase in operating revenues from Rs 2,78,454 crores during FY21-22 to Rs 3,45,967 crores in FY22-23. The PAT numbers, on the other hand, saw a transition from net losses of Rs 11,309 crores to net profits of Rs 2,690 crores keeping the timeframe the same.
The net profit margins of the company, on a sequential basis, moved up from 3.44 percent during Q3 to 5.19 percent in Q4. In addition to the above, the debt-to-equity ratio saw a reduction from 3.68 times to 2.77 times during the same time horizon.
According to the recent shareholding data released, promoters of the company hold a 46.39 percent stake, and Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) hold a 15.34 percent stake in the company.
