The share price of this prominent telecom firm gained around 2 percent to an Intraday high of Rs 1,916 per share on Wednesday after the company signed a 5 year deal to telecast the world athletics series of events including the World Championships in Tokyo in 2025.
With a market capitalization of Rs 53,555 crores, at 2:00 pm, the shares of Tata Communications Ltd moved up by 1.25 percent, trading at Rs 1,902.70 a piece on Wednesday’s afternoon session, Comparing today’s High of Rs 1,916 per share and to a previous close of Rs 1879.15 per share, the stock has gone up by 2 percent.
According to the company’s stock exchange filings, Tata Communication announced a five-year global host broadcasting services deal which will cover the World Athletics Series of events.
Starting in 2025, Tata Communications will be a key partner for World Athletics which will take place in multiple places such as Nanjing, Guangzhou, San Diego, and Tokyo. The firm aims to bring more innovation and engage the audience in a much better way.
The event will take place from 13th to the 25th of September 2025 and will have a global viewing audience of approximately 1 billion people.
Analyzing the financials of Tata Communications from a YoY standpoint, the revenue from operations increased by 17.5 percent from Rs.17,838 crores in FY22-23 to Rs 20,969 crores in FY23-24, while the net profits of the firm decreased by 46 percent from Rs. 1,801 crores in FY22-23 to Rs 970 crores in FY23-24.
For FY24, the consolidated EBITDA stood at 20.2 percent, the return on equity at 54.2 percent, and the reported total revenue stood at Rs 20,969 crores.
The revenue growth increased by 24.5 percent from Rs 4,569 crores in Q4FY23 to Rs 5,692 crores in Q4FY24. The company’s debt profile has increased by 59.7 percent from Rs 5,711 crores in Q4FY23 to Rs 9,126 crores in Q4FY24.
As per the company’s filings, The Core Business Margins excluding the impact of subsidiaries and Mergers and acquisitions stood at 23.4 percent for Q4 FY24 and at 23.7 percent for FY24.
The Digital Portfolio of the firm contributes 41 percent of the company’s Data Revenues, strengthening its position as a leading CommTech player.
The shares of this company generated an overall return of 10 percent over the past 6 months and 29.1 percent over the past 1 year.
