The Tata Group has announced that its super app, Tata Neu will be released on April 7, 2022. This announcement was made on Google Play Store’s website via a teaser graphic. The Tata Group had begun promoting the app in Public for the first time, in conjunction with the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL).

“Hi new user, we can’t wait to reward you. Start your shopping journey with us on April 7,” reads the Tata Digital Website. So far, this app was available only to the employees of the Tata Group.

Basically, it is the conglomerate’s app that combines all of the company’s digital services and apps into one place. This super-app attempts to challenge Amazon, Flipkart and Jio Platforms in the consumer digital economy space as it will enable shopping and payments under one roof.

“Tata Neu is a unified platform that connects several brands across the Tata Universe like never before. Designed to be a super-app, Tata Neu offers everything from daily grocery, electronics, finance solutions, flights, holidays, and more,” as per the description on Tata Digital’s Website.

Here’s a list of the things that you can do with the help of Tata Neu:

  1. Groceries, Gadgets, Getaways. Find everything you want on Tata Neu.
  2. Scan and pay via any QR code using Tata Pay UPI, just like they can with Google Pay, PhonePe and others.
  3. When consumers explore the app, they will be treated to unbeatable offers from AirAsia India, BigBasket, Croma, Tata CLiQ, IHCL, Westside and more.
  4. Consumers can track and pay for their utilities and bills, all in one place.
  5. NeuCoins, Cards, UPI, EMI and other payment methods are accepted across many Tata Group websites, apps and stores.
  6. Users can order food from the most iconic restaurants and book stays at Taj Group hotels using this super app.
  7. They can get financial help with personal loans, easy credit and insurance plans.

A bulk of Indian consumers who are using the internet for the first time, do so via their phones. This is one of the key reasons why Indian companies are interested in developing super apps that will enhance revenue realisation and provide businesses with enormous consumer data that can be used to learn more about user behaviour.
