Hindustan Unilever Ltd(HUL) announced Priya Nair as a Chief Executive officer, she has 30 years experience in Marketing and Leadership roles.
The company, well known in the FMCG sector, with a portfolio of over 50 brands across 16 categories, with annual sales above Rs. 63,000 crore, saw its shares rise by 5 percent after appointing its first woman CEO.
With a market capitalization of Rs. 5,92,543 Cr, shares of Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) opened at Rs. 2460.00 per equity share, from its previous day’s closing price of Rs. 2409.05, and made an intraday high of 2529.85 per share(5 percent).

Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) has appointed Priya Nair as its new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. This is a historic moment for the company, as she becomes the first woman to lead HUL in its 92 year history.
At present, she is the President of Beauty and Wellbeing at Unilever, which is one of the company’s fastest growing global divisions. She will continue to be a part of the Unilever Leadership Executive (ULE) even after taking charge of HUL.
She will officially take over the role on August 1, 2025, after the current CEO, Rohit Jawa, steps down on July 31, 2025. Along with becoming CEO and MD, Priya Nair will also join the HUL Board, subject to the necessary approvals.
Educational Qualifications.
She completed her B.Com in Accounts and Statistics from Sydenham College between 1987 and 1992. She then pursued an MBA in Marketing at Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune, from 1992 to 1994. Later, she also got a Business Administration and Management program at Harvard Business School.
30 years of Experience.
Priya Nair started her career at HUL in 1995 and has held key roles in home care, beauty, and personal care. She began as a Brand and Consumer Insights Manager for top products like Dove, Rin, and Comfort, later leading marketing for laundry, oral care, and deodorants.
She served as General Manager for Customer Development in the western region and then moved up to leadership roles as Executive Director and CCVP for Homecare and Beauty and Personal Care in South Asia. Due to her strong work in India, she was promoted globally, becoming Global CMO in 2022 and President of Beauty and Wellbeing in 2023.
