This FMCG stock is in focus as it jumped 9 percent following the report of Mahi Madhusudan Kela’s name appearing in the shareholding pattern of Q4FY25.

Share Price Movement

With a market capitalization of Rs. 2,983 Crore, the stock of Prataap Snacks opened at Rs. 1,215, up 4.34 percent from yesterday’s close, and after opening, it made a high of Rs. 1268.90, up 8.97 percent. Additionally, the Yearly return for the stock is 40 percent, and the past 5-year return is a decent 168 percent.

Stake Acquisition 

Mahi Madhusudan Kela has bought a 4.60 percent stake in the company or 11,00,000 shares of the total shares available. The holding value stands at Rs. 134.70 Crore. As of the Q4FY25 shareholding pattern, he has picked up a fresh stake in the company.

Earlier, Authum Investment and Mahi Madhusudan Kela had proposed to acquire a large share in the company via an Open offer, which was later approved by the Competition Commission of India (CCI). Authum Investment & Infrastructure is a listed NBFC with a market capitalization of Rs. 28,000 Crore. 

As of the latest shareholding pattern, Authum Investment holds 42.93 percent or 1,02,48,709 shares, and Mahi Madhusudan Kela owns 4.61 percent or 11,00,000 shares. Combined, they own 47.54 percent of the Company.

Waaree energies with 1.20 percent and a value of Rs. 733 Crore and Mkventures Capital with 75.40 percent and a value of Rs. 410 Crore. 

Financial Highlights

The company reported a 9.06 percent YoY increase in revenue from Rs. 408 Crore in Q3FY24 to Rs. 445 Crore in Q3FY25. On a QoQ basis, the company reported a marginal increase of 0.90 percent in revenue from Rs. 441 Crore in the previous quarter.

Their Net profit saw a turnaround to a Net loss on a YoY basis from a Rs. 11 Crore Profit in Q3FY24 to a loss of 38 Crore in Q3FY25. On a QoQ basis, they reported a Net profit of Rs. 6 Crore in the previous quarter.
