Sensex Opens at 82,448; Nifty below 25,200 – Sterlite Technology, Timex Group in Focus Today. Nifty 50 began the session at 25,268.95, rising 24.20 points or 0.10% from its previous close of 25,244.75. Bank Nifty opened at 56,693.55, up by 72.40 points or 0.13% compared to the last close of 56,621.15. Sensex started the day at 82,886.41, marking a gain of 130.90 points or 0.16% from the previous close of 82,755.51. Meanwhile, GIFT Nifty opened at 25,317.50.

Global index as of 26 June 2025:

  • DOW 30 fell by 106.59 points to close at 42,982.40, slipping 0.25%.
  • S&P 500 remained virtually flat, dipping just 0.02 points to end at 6,092.16.
  • NASDAQ gained 61.02 points, rising 0.31% to settle at 19,973.60.
  • FTSE 100 declined by 40.24 points, down 0.46% to close at 8,718.75.
  • DAX dropped sharply by 143.25 points, falling 0.61% to finish at 23,498.30.
  • NIKKEI 225 advanced 151.51 points, climbing 0.39% to end at 38,942.10.

Commodities Update:

  • Gold: Currently trading at ₹9,894 per gram.
  • Silver: Down by ₹0.10, now at ₹107.90 per gram.
  • Crude Oil: Prices have risen by 0.37%, reaching 67.84, compared to the previous close of 67.59.

Global updates/events:

Former U.S. President Donald Trump rejected early U.S. intelligence assessments downplaying the impact of recent strikes on Iran and revealed that a meeting with Iranian officials is planned for next week.

Meanwhile, an Iranian official admitted that several nuclear facilities suffered significant damage due to repeated U.S.-Israeli attacks. However, U.S. intel suggests the strikes only delayed Iran’s nuclear program by a few months. Despite initial accusations of violations, the ceasefire between Iran and Israel continues to hold.
