Life of Mr. Sunjay Kapur

He was born into the renowned Kapur family, Sunjay Kapur grew up immersed in India’s automotive industry, shaped by his father Dr. Surinder Kapur’s pioneering leadership at Sona Group. Educated at The Doon School and later at Harvard Business School, Kapur developed a strong foundation for business and leadership.

He was married to Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor, and they had children together, but later decided to live apart. When he took charge of Sona Group, Kapur helped Sona Comstar grow into a big name around the world in the automotive industry. He led the company’s expansion to many countries and played a key role in developing new technology for electric cars.

His visionary leadership, compassion, and dedication to excellence left a lasting impact on both his company and the broader industry. Sunjay Kapur passed away in England on June 12, 2025, at the age of 53, leaving behind a legacy of innovation, integrity, and inspiration that continues to influence Sona Comstar and the many lives he touched.
