Synopsis: In March 2026, a number of new mutual fund NFOs were introduced, across equity, debt index, FoF, and arbitrage strategies, providing investors with diversified investment opportunities aligned with varying risk profiles.
The initial subscription of a new mutual fund scheme is a New Fund Offer (NFO), under which the investor can purchase units at the initial offer price. Asset management companies introduce new investment strategies and themes in the market through the introduction of NFOs. A number of NFOs were introduced in March 2026 in different categories, including equity funds, debt index funds, fund-of-funds and other alternative investment strategies, which provide investors with new possibilities to diversify their portfolios.
1. Nippon India CRISIL IBX Financial Services 3-6 Months Debt Index Fund Regular Growth
The Nippon India CRISIL IBX Financial Services 3-6 Months Debt Index Fund is an open-ended debt index fund which seeks to mimic the performance of the CRISIL-IBX Financial Services 3-6 months debt index. It concentrates on short term debt instruments issued by financial leaders, including commercial papers (CPs), certificates of deposit (CDs) and corporate bonds with a maturity of between 3-6 months.
This scheme had a New Fund Offer (NFO) that opened March 5, 2026. It is in the debt – index fund category, which aims at giving comparatively stable returns with low-interest rate risk since it is structured with short maturity. Minimum SIP of ₹1000 and Lumpsum of ₹1000. This scheme has a low to medium risk rating just like the short-duration debt funds which are currently investing in high quality financial sector securities. It closes March 9, 2026.
2. The Wealth Company Small Cap Fund- Regular Growth
The Wealth Company Small Cap Fund is an open-ended equity mutual fund and mainly focused on investing in small-cap businesses to achieve long term capital growth. Small-cap funds are usually based on the emerging companies that have a high growth potential, but they are more volatile and riskier.
This scheme was launched on March 5, 2026, and is going to be closed on March 18, 2026. The fund falls in the equity category of diversified (small cap), and it is compared with the Nifty Small cap ₹250. The minimum investment required is ₹10,000, and a monthly SIP of ₹2000, though the investors can invest in advance in other amounts of ₹5000. The rating of the risk of the scheme is very high, and it is normal with small-cap equity funds because small companies are volatile.
3. ICICI Prudential Diversified Equity All Cap Active FoF
The ICICI Prudential Diversified Equity All Cap Active FoF is an open-ended/FoF fund, which mainly invests in units of actively managed domestic equity mutual funds of different market capitalizations from big cap, mid-cap and small cap funds. The aim of the scheme is to achieve long term capital growth by giving a diversified exposure to equity with a number of actively managed schemes.
This scheme has a New Fund Offer (NFO) which opened on March 2, 2026 and will close on March 16, 2026. The scheme is compared to the Nifty 500 Total Return Index (TRI) that is the cross section of the Indian equity market. Minimum SIP of ₹100 and Lumpsum of ₹100 and after this, more investments are possible in multiples. Since the fund eventually makes investments in equity-based schemes, it has a very high-risk rating and would be considered appropriate to long-term investment horizon investors that would be seeking diversified equity assets.

4. Mirae Asset Silver ETF FoF
Mirae Asset Silver ETF FoF is an open-ended fund of funds which is primarily invested in units of the Mirae Asset Silver ETF providing the investors with exposure to silver as a commodity without the effect of purchasing or holding physical silver. The scheme is a passive investment scheme as it is seeking to yield returns that will match up with that of silver via the underlying ETF.
This scheme opened a NFO on March 5, 2026 and is anticipated to close on March 19, 2026. The investors will be allowed to invest Minimum Lumpsum of ₹5000 and they can invest more after that point. Since the fund is an exposure to a commodity asset class, its risk rating will be very high and will be subject to the price fluctuations depending on the silver prices. The plan targeted investors interested in having the precious metals in their portfolio via the mutual fund route.
5. Arudha Equity Long -Short Fund
Arudha Equity Long-Short Fund is a Specialised Investment Fund (SIF), which was initiated on the Arudha platform of Bandhan Mutual Fund. The scheme uses a long-short investment approach in which the fund long positions the stocks whose prices are projected to increase and short positions in stocks whose prices are projected to decrease with the help of derivatives. This strategy seeks to produce risk-adjusted returns and deal with market volatility and thus is not similar to the conventional equity mutual funds.
The units will be priced at ₹1 at the beginning of the NFO and the scheme will be mainly aimed at high-net-worth investors as well as institutional investors. The minimum amount of investment needed is ₹10 lakh per annum where other amounts can be invested at 10,000. The NFO period is normally open between 3 to 15 working days that are based on the final subscription window set by the fund house.
The fund plan combines both equity, derivative as well as other instruments to seize both an uptrending and a downtrending market making it the ideal fund plan to the investor seeking other investment plans than the mutual fund.

These funds give the investors a new possibility to diversify their portfolios and venture in new areas of interest. Nevertheless, investors must consider the aim of the fund, the level of risk and its suitability to their financial objectives before committing their money to it.
