Why Does It Matter?
The project will help the city in following ways:
- Reduced traffic jams in office areas.
- It will decrease carbon emission and air pollution in cities.
- It will help people live lives by being more active.
- It will make it easier to get to and from work.
- It will help Hyderabad meet its future goals to be environment friendly
Cycling is one of the few green ways to move around and it makes places like office areas and neighborhoods more attractive. The areas around the proposed cycling routes like Gachibowli, Financial District, Kokapet, HiTec City and Jubilee Hills could really benefit from better roads and connectivity.
Cycling is really important for the environment and it is getting more popular in Indian cities and if Hyderabad can make this project work it could be an example for big cities. If everything goes well this project could change the way people get to work every day and make Hyderabad a city that people think is smart and cares about the environment.
Hyderabad is trying to connect the ORR Cycle Track to big IT and commercial places, which’s a good step towards making the city a better place to get around. This is part of a bigger trend in India where cities are trying to be more green and find better ways for people to get around.
