Synopsis: After Hebbal Bengaluru wants a second tunnel, this time, at Goraguntepalya. The goal is to ease traffic on the Outer Ring Road which will also help connect Tumakuru Road and BEL Circle.
What Is the Goraguntepalya Tunnel Project?
BDA wants to build a 4.5 km tunnel with 6 lanes at Goraguntepalya to help reduce traffic congestion at one of Bengaluru’s intersections.The new tunnel project comes after the Hebbal tunnel project, the goal is to make traffic flow better, along the Outer Ring Road. This will also connect Tumakuru Road and BEL Circle easily, as a result people travelling will face less delays.

- Construction Technology: Engineers are looking at construction methods, these include Cut-and-Cover, Box-Push and Tunnel Boring Machines, they will choose the one after finalising the design.
