During Monday’s trading session, shares of a company involved in seed research, production, processing and marketing of seeds and related products surged nearly 16 percent on BSE, after the company announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary forayed into the bio-fertilisers business.

At 12:28 p.m., shares of Tierra Agrotech Limited were trading in green at Rs. 52.01 on BSE, up by around 10 percent, compared to its previous closing price of Rs. 47.46, with a market cap of Rs. 341 crores.

The stock has delivered negative returns of around 23 percent in one year, but has gained by over 34 percent in the last one month.

According to the latest regulatory filings with the BSE, Tidas Agrotech Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tierra Agrotech Limited, has announced its entry into a new line of business. The company will now focus on promoting, developing, producing, processing, and marketing a wide range of bio-fertilisers, plant nutrients, plant growth hormones, herbal products, and farm equipment, along with other essential agricultural inputs.

Tierra Agrotech reported a marginal growth in its revenue from operations, showing a year-on-year increase of around 4 percent from Rs. 50 crores in Q1 FY25 to Rs. 52 crores in Q1 FY26.

Similarly, its net profit increased during the same period from Rs. 5 crores to Rs. 5.4 crores, representing a slight rise of nearly 8 percent YoY.
