The shares of India’s second largest pharmacy retailer surged up to 9.6 percent on budget day’s trading session after a 234 percent rise in net profits in Q3 FY25.

With a market capitalization of Rs 9,243.36 crore, Medplus Health Services Ltd surged 9.6 percent on budget day’s trading session and made an intraday high of Rs 794.50 per share compared to its previous closing price of Rs 724.60 per share.
The stock retraced from its day’s high and was trading at Rs 772.25 which is 6.6 percent higher than the previous closing price.
What Happened
The shares of Medplus Health Services Ltd surged after the company reported its Q3FY24-25 results. Its revenue from operations grew by 8.3 percent year on year from Rs 1441.4 crore to Rs 1561.4 crore in Q3FY25. However on a quarterly basis, it fell 1 percent from Rs 1576.1 crore in Q2FY25.
The net profits surged substantially by 234 percent from Rs 13.7 crore compared to Rs 45.8 crore in the same period previous year. On a quarterly basis, the net profit rose 18 percent from Rs. 38.7 crore.
Further, the company’s EPS substantially increased by 234 percent year on year from Rs 1.15 to Rs 3.84. On a quarterly basis, it rose by 18.5 percent from Rs 3.24

The retail segment contributed to 98.2 percent of the total revenue while the diagnostic services accounted for 1.8 percent.
Company Overview
Medplus Health Services Ltd is the second largest pharma retailer in the country. They have a strong network of more than 4,600 stores spread across 13 states and 1 union territory. This includes the recent addition of 379 stores in the last 12 months and 60 stores in the previous quarter. The stores are distributed in a strategic manner to maintain a high presence in metro, tier-one, and tier-two cities.
Under the retail segment, they have pharma and non-pharma products. Pharma includes over 800 products covering Chronic, Acute, OTC & other Pharmaceutical products. Non pharma includes over 400 products covering packaged food, baked goods,cosmetics and toiletries.
Medplus Health Services operates three manufacturing plants in Telangana, located in Jeedimetla, Moosapet, and Pashamylaram. The Jeedimetla plant produces plastic products like medicine trays, nebulizers and vaporizers. The Moosapet plant manufactures optical frames and spectacles, while the Pashamylaram plant produces liquid disinfectants, toiletries, and cosmetics.
