Synopsis:
Bank of Maharashtra delivered strong Q1FY26 results with a 23% rise in net profit and robust growth across deposits and advances, supported by improved asset quality and operational efficiency.

The shares of one of the leading public sector banks in India is in focus in the day’s today, after declaring financial results for Q1FY26, where net profits grew by 23 percent and more, check it out.

With a market capitalization of Rs. 43,842 crores, the shares of Bank of Maharashtra closed at Rs. 57.20, up by 2 percent from its previous day close of Rs. 56.06.

Q1 Update

In June 2025, the Bank of Maharashtra reported Q1FY26 results with a solid year-over-year performance compared to Q1FY25. The generated net interest income is Rs. 3,292 crores, up by 17.60 percent as compared to Rs. 2,799 crores in Q1FY25, indicating increased operational efficiency. 

Operating profit was Rs. 2,570 crores in Q1FY26, increased by 11 percent as compared to Rs. 2,294 crores in Q1FY25. Whereas net profit was Rs. 1593 crores in Q1FY26, it increased by 23.14 percent as compared to Rs. 1293 crores in Q1FY25. 

The amount of CASA deposits increased to Rs. 152,738 crores, which is 50.07 percent of the total deposits. The Return on Assets (ROA) increased to 1.80 percent from 1.72 percent a year ago, while the Cost-to-Income ratio decreased to 37.57 from 37.87.

The net interest margin (NIM) reduced to 3.95 percent in Q1FY26 from 3.97 percent in Q1FY25. Whereas CASA % increased from 49.86 percent to 50.07percent from year over year. The Gross NPA decreased from 1.85 percent in Q1FY25 to 1.74 percent in Q1FY26, and the Net NPA also decreased from 0.2 percent to 0.18 percent year over year, showing the company’s strong credit management. 

Bank of Maharashtra provides a wide range of banking services. Treasury, Corporate/Wholesale Banking, Retail Banking, and Other Banking Operations comprise its four main operational divisions. The Treasury segment is responsible for overseeing money market operations, foreign exchange, and investments. 

The Corporate/Wholesale Banking segment provides trade finance and credit solutions to large and mid-sized businesses. Deposits, loans, and personal banking products are just a few of the many services that retail banking offers to its customers. Other banking operations include non-core banking operations and fee-based services.
