Ranji Trophy is set to begin its campaign on October 15, and Karnataka has announced its 15-member squad for the season. The team will be led by Mayank Agarwal. Karun Nair is set to make a comeback in the Karnataka jersey after leading Vidarbha for the last two seasons. He returns to his home side after not being selected for India’s ongoing West Indies series.
Karun Nair last played for Karnataka in 2022 and is now set to return to the side for their opening match against Saurashtra, scheduled from October 15 to 18 in Rajkot. He played a vital role for Vidarbha last season, scoring 863 runs at an average of 53.93, a performance that earned him a call-up to the Indian Test team. Meanwhile, it appears that the doors are closing on Manish Pandey in first-class cricket, as his name is not included in the squad.
