As the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) progresses, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) is finally turning dreams into reality. With 8 wins in 11 matches and 16 points, RCB is currently at the top of the points table. They are showcasing a perfect blend of strategic leadership, hunger for success and consistent performance. It’s been 18 years now that RCB hasn’t won the IPL titles, fans are eagerly waiting for the title ever since.
Even though the star players like A.B devilliars, Chris Gayle, have played for RCB, and Virat Kohli who is still part of RCB, they couldn’t win the title. Every year RCB performs really well but they don’t reach finals only 3 times they went to finals but couldn’t win. This season we could see RCB dominating, there are very high chances of RCB playing the finals and you never know they might win.
The captains of RCB have changed over the years , this year its Rajat Patidar, he has marked a significant shift in RCB’s approach. Rajat has brought a fresh mind-set to the team. He is known for his calmness , situational awareness, decision-making skills etc. Andy Flower has backed him, who has tons of experience, and the team looks more united and confident.
One of the biggest reasons behind RCB dominating this season is their teamwork, everybody is contributing with bat or ball or fielding. Whether it’s defending a score or chasing a big total, RCB has shown they can handle the pressure.
When we talk about RCB, we can’t ignore Virat Kohli. At the age of 36, he is still leading RCB. We have seen the consistency of Kohli, also he is on top in the race of orange cap holders this season, with 505 runs at the strike rate of 143 in 11 matches. Somewhere his consistency has been key to RCB’s season. Not only this year, but Kohli has been performing for RCB for many years. In the 2016 IPL tournament he was leading run-scorer with 973 runs in a single season, know one has actually broken that record over the years.

Power in Batting Line up
RCB’s middle order and finishers are performing. Devdutt Paddikal played some good innings for RCB. One of the tremendous innings came in the RCB vs CSK match, where Romario Shepard smacked 53 runs off 14 balls, one of the fastest fifty of the IPL. That kind of firepower has helped RCB finish the game strong, Tim David has been playing wonderful knocks finishing for RCB. Krunal Pandya did very well in the RCB vs DC match where he scored 73 runs off 47 balls. The batting line up is very dangerous with Philip salt and Kohli opening, one the powerful duo of IPL 2025.
Bowling Unit of RCB
This season the bowling has improved for RCB. With Josh Hazelwood leading-wicket taker of IPL 2025 season so far, holding purple cap. We could see so much discipline from RCB bowlers, maintaining their line and lengths, taking wickets in crucial times which could change the match scenario. Bowlers are doing their job pretty well. In the RCB vs CSK match Yash Dayal defended the score, CSK needed 6 runs in 3 balls with a free hit to come, he bowled so beautifully that RCB won the match by 2 runs. Suyash Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar every bowler is contributing in some of the other matches.
Fans Finally Dare to Dream
RCB fans have been waiting for a long time for a season like this. They’ve always been Loyal to the Franchise, supporting in their highs and lows. From heartbreak in finals to finishing at bottom. But this year it seems different. The team looks strong, balanced and focused. There’s hope, belief and excitement in the air. They are just one match away from qualifying for playoffs and sealing their spot.
