Chris Wood is the Global head of equity strategy at Jefferies. He publishes a well-known report called Greed & Fear, which is a widely followed institutional report. In the latest report, he has published a portfolio regis of three of his Portfolios. Asia ex-Japan, India long only portfolio, and Global long only Equity Portfolio.

Changes in Asia ex-Japan long-only Portfolio 

In the Asia ex-Japan long only Portfolio, Investment in Godrej Properties was removed, and investment in Macrotech Developers increased from 3 percent to 4 percent. DLF has made a new entry with 3 percent weight, Axis Bank will be replaced by MakeMyTrip with 4 percent weight. The weightage of Zomato will be increased by one percent by reducing TSMC weightage.

Changes in India Long-Only Portfolio

In the India Long-Only Portfolio, the weightage of HDFC Bank and State Bank of India (SBI) will be reduced by 1 percent each. The reduction of Weightage in both companies will lead to an increase of Reliance Industries (RIL) Weightage by 2 percent.

Changes in Global Long-Only Equity  Portfolio 

In the Global Long-only Equity Portfolio, the investment from Axis Bank will be removed and will be replaced by the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) listed MakeMyTrip. Investment in Godrej Properties will be removed and replaced by Macrotech Developers. Other than Jefferies, Goldman Sachs also added the shares of the internet company MakeMyTrip to its top ten buy ideas for Domestic stocks.

Recent Indian Market Performance

After a significant decline of 19 percent from NIFTY 50’s 52-week High of 26,277, the Index had stabilized and recovered all the 2025 Year’s losses. Recovering 2,220 points or 10 percent from its 52-week low of 21,281. PSU Bank Index led the recovery path with a 14 percent recovery. However, all the recovery was lost after the trump tariff announcement, and stock markets all over the world felt the effect of the trump’s announcement.
