RPSG ventures Limited has acquired a 70 percent  stake in Manchester originals Ltd for GBP 81.21(approximately Rs.940 Cr), Million, expanding global sports presence.

The diversified company, involved in sectors like IT services, FMCG, real estate, sports, and more, is in focus after acquiring a 70 percent stake in Manchester Originals Limited, a UK-based professional cricket franchise.

With a market capitalization of Rs.3,210 Crores, shares of RPSG ventures Limited opened at Rs.966.60 per equity share, from its previous day’s closing price of Rs. 953.95, and made an intra-day high of Rs. 999.05.

Acquisition Details

RPSG Sports Ventures Private Limited (RPSVPL), a subsidiary of RPSG Ventures Limited, has taken a big step in the global sports field by acquiring a 70 percent equity stake in Manchester Originals Limited, a professional cricket team based in Manchester, England.

The total cost of the deal is GBP 81.21 million(approximately Rs.940 Cr), which will be paid over a period of 24 months. The entire transaction was done through cash payment.

Manchester Originals Ltd was founded in 2019 and has been steadily growing, with a turnover of over GBP 2 million in the financial year ending January 2024. With this strategic investment, RPSG aims to further expand its role in global sports and bring new energy to the Manchester Originals Ltd.

This acquisition is part of RPSG ventures Limited strategy to strengthen its presence in international sports, especially cricket. The company believes that this move will open up new opportunities for global collaborations, talent development, and better brand visibility in key cricket playing nations.

RPSG Ventures Ltd is a diversified business group with operations across several sectors, including information technology (IT) services, business process management (BPM), fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), Ayurveda formulations, real estate, sports, and restaurants. 

While its IT services are managed directly, all other businesses are operated through its various subsidiary companies. The company’s wide-ranging portfolio reflects its presence in both traditional and modern industries, making it a dynamic and multi-sector enterprise.

The company’s revenue from operations grew strongly, rising from Rs.7,951 crores in FY24 to Rs.9,608 crores in FY25. However, despite the increase in revenue, the net profit fell from Rs.197 crores in FY24 to Rs.164 crores in FY25.
