The shares of a Microcap packaging company that manufactures and exports plastic bags and pouch-making machines, packaging machines, and extrusion equipment gained up to 15.6 percent in today’s trade after bagging a US Patent.
Price Action
The shares of Mamata Machinery Limited, with a total market capitalization of Rs 979.14 Crore on Friday, reached an intraday high of Rs 422.8 per share, gaining around 15.6 percent in today’s trade. As of 1:30 pm, the shares retreated from their day’s high and were trading at Rs 397.9 per share which was 8.8 percent higher than the previous closing price of Rs 365.85.
What Happened
In a press release dated March 21, 2025, the company announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office has granted it a 20-year patent for its “CROSS SEALING DEVICE,” under US patent no. 12,246,875 B2. This will enable Mamata to offer this unique technology to customers in the USA too.
Additionally, the company had developed proprietary technology for the sealing mechanism on its VFFS machine, with a patent granted in India under patent no.553343 on October 28, 2024.

The company reported an increase of 43 percent YoY in revenue from operations from Rs 51.42 Crore in Q3FY24 to Rs 73.44 Crore in Q3FY25. Their Net Profit grew by 6 percent YoY from Rs 8.28 Crore to Rs 8.77 Crore over the same period.
