Indian markets closed lower on August 26, with the Nifty settling near the 24,700 mark. The Sensex slipped 849.37 points, or 1.04 percent, to end at 80,786.54, while the Nifty declined 255.70 points, or 1.02 percent, finishing the day at 24,712.05.
Shriram Finance, Sun Pharma, Tata Steel, Bajaj Finance, and Trent were among the top drags on the Nifty, while Eicher Motors, HUL, Maruti Suzuki, Nestle India, and ITC ended in the green. Except FMCG, all sectoral indices closed lower, with PSU Bank, metal, pharma, oil & gas, consumer durables, realty, and telecom slipping 1–2 percent.
Godrej Properties Ltd (NSE: GODREJPROP)
