The Caribbean side has announced its squad for the ODI and T20 series against Bangladesh. The ODI series begins on October 18 and consists of three matches, followed by the T20 series starting on October 27. Shai Hope has been appointed captain for both formats.

Maiden ODI Call-Up for Ackeem Auguste

Former West Indies U-19 captain Ackeem Auguste has earned his maiden ODI call-up for the Bangladesh tour. Experienced opener Evin Lewis misses out as he continues to recover from a wrist injury. Key players such as Gudakesh Motie, Sherfane Rutherford, Romario Shepherd, Jayden Seales, and Brandon King have been included in both squads.

Coach Sammy Excited About World Cup Preparations

West Indies have begun preparations for next year’s T20 World Cup and the 2027 ODI World Cup. Coach Daren Sammy said, “The squad assembled will strive to maintain a winning mentality and strong team cohesion  essential components for long-term success ahead of the 2027 World Cup.” He also added, “Facing Bangladesh will earn us crucial points toward automatic qualification for the showpiece event.”
