Singapore is usually hot and humid, but sudden rainstorms could take place due to its tropical weather. In 2022, a big storm pushed the Grand Prix start back by an hour, showcasing how heavy the rain can be.

Circuit Details

The Marina Bay Street Circuit is one of the toughest tracks in Formula 1. Measuring 4.940 km (3.070 miles), it winds through the city streets and features 19 corners. Drivers complete 62 laps, covering more than 300 kilometers in total.

With its rough surface, twisty layouts and frequent safety cars, the Singapore track is very demanding. The heat and humidity test the brakes, tyres, and drivers’ tolerance. Since 2008, it has been one of the hardest tracks in Formula 1.

What Happened Last Year

The 2024 Singapore Grand Prix was one of the most dramatic races of the season. Lando Norris secured his third Formula 1 victory despite scraping the walls a couple of times during the race.

Max Verstappen finished behind Lando in second place and Oscar Piastri grabbed the final podium spot. The result highlighted McLaren’s growing strength, while the narrow streets of Marina Bay once again delivered unexpected twists.

Who Are the Favourites in 2025?

  • Oscar Piastri (McLaren) – Current championship leader, consistent and fast all season.
