For its 2,880 MW Dibang multipurpose project in Arunachal Pradesh, state-owned BHEL said on Monday that it has received an order from NHPC.
BHEL said in a statement, that the order for the electro-mechanical (E&M) work for the project has been bagged against stiff competition under international competitive bidding,
It however did not share the order value.
BHEL’s scope in the contract includes design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of the E&M package.
Major project components will be produced in BHEL’s facilities in Bhopal, Bengaluru, Jhansi, and Rudrapur, while the company’s power sector – eastern region division in Kolkata will handle on-site execution duties.
BHEL is India’s largest manufacturer of power-generating equipment with an installed base of over 1,97,000 MW globally.
On Monday shares of the BHEL closed 2.3% up at Rs. 139.30. As per the company filing, total revenue grew by 8% YoY from Rs. 4742.28 Cr in Q1 FY23 to Rs. 5117.20 Cr in Q1 FY24 and the company reported a net loss of Rs. 343.89 Cr in Q1 FY24 against loss of Rs. 188 Cr in Q1 FY23.
