To develop a hydrogen hub at Tuticorin in Tamilnadu, NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL) and V O Chidambaranar Port Authority (VOCPA) have joined hands.
NTPC said in a statement that both entities signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in this regard on Friday.
At the hub that will be constructed on the land supplied by VOCPA, green hydrogen and its derivatives, such as green ammonia and green methanol, will be produced.
The NTPC Group is working on a pipeline of more than 20 GW and has a goal of constructing a 60 GW capacity for renewable energy by 2032.
On Friday NTPC company shares closed 2.4% up at Rs. 240.50 on NSE.
According to the company filing, total revenue declined by 0.3% from Rs. 43,560 Cr in Q1 FY23 to Rs. 43390 Cr in Q1 FY24 and for the same period, net profits grewl by 23% from Rs. 3,977 Cr to Rs. 4,907 Cr.
