With a market capitalization of Rs. 10,879.81 crores, the share of Railtel Corporation of India Limited has reached an intraday high of Rs. 339.30 per equity share, rising nearly around 9.54 percent from its previous day’s close price of Rs. 309.75. Since then, the stock has retreated and is currently trading at Rs. 339 per equity share. 

What Happened:

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. has secured a significant work order from Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited worth Rs. 25.15 crore. The contract is for providing and renewing MPLS/ILL links for five years, from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2030. This deal strengthens RailTel’s presence in the telecom sector and ensures long-term business growth.

The project includes maintaining existing connections and adding new ones based on feasibility. This order highlights RailTel’s expertise in telecom infrastructure and reliable service delivery.

Previous Orders:

On March 20, 2025, RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. received a work order worth Rs. 16.89 crore from the Ministry of Defence for OFC laying work. The project is set to be completed by March 17, 2026.

On March 7, 2025, RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. received a work order worth Rs. 28.29 crore from Northern Railway for indoor and outdoor double-distant signaling work. The project is scheduled for completion by September 6, 2026.

Order Book:

As of January 2025, RailTel Corporation of India Limited had orders worth Rs. 5,280 crore. This strong project pipeline guarantees steady revenue growth and strengthens the company’s role in railway and telecom infrastructure.

Segment Analysis:

RailTel works in two key areas, such as telecom and projects. In FY24, telecom accounted for 49 percent of its revenue, with national long-distance services at 23 percent, internet services at 17 percent, and infrastructure services at 9 percent. The projects segment made up 50 percent of revenue and is expected to expand further.

Recent quarter results:

RailTel Corporation of India Limited’s revenue grew by 14.97 percent, increasing from Rs. 668 crore in Q3 FY24 to Rs. 768 crore in Q3 FY25. Net profit also rose by 4.83 percent, from Rs. 62 crore to Rs. 65 crore. This reflects the company’s strong financial performance and steady business growth.
