This small-cap renewable energy stock engaged in developing solar power projects under Independent Power Producer (IPP) and Captive Power Producer (CPP) segments, is in focus after receiving new orders for developing 13.80 MW of solar power projects under its Captive Power Producer (CPP) segment.

Stock Price Movement:

With a market capitalization of Rs. 8,385.57 crores, the share of KPI Green Energy Limited has reached an intraday high of Rs. 445 per equity share, rising nearly around 1.40 percent from its previous day’s close price of Rs. 438.85. Since then, the stock has retreated and is currently trading at Rs. 425.90 per equity share. 

What Happened:

KPI Green Energy Limited has received new orders for developing 13.80 MW of solar power projects under its Captive Power Producer (CPP) segment. These projects will be executed by its subsidiary, Sun Drops Energia Private Limited, under the Distributed Renewable Energy Bilateral Purchase (DREBP) Policy of Gujarat’s Renewable Energy Policy-2023. 

The projects are set to be completed in phases during the 2025-26 financial year. The orders were awarded by domestic clients. This new order strengthens KPI Green Energy’s position in the renewable energy sector and supports its long-term growth plans.

Order Book:

The company has a strong order pipeline, with over 1,271 MW in the Independent Power Producer (IPP) segment and 1,598 MW in the Captive Power Producer (CPP) segment. This brings the total orders in hand to more than 2,869 MW as of January 15, 2025. 

Install Capacity:

As of January 15, 2025, the company has installed a total capacity of more than 533 MW. This includes over 171 MW under the Independent Power Producer (IPP) segment and over 362 MW under the Captive Power Producer (CPP) segment, showing strong growth in renewable energy generation.

The installed capacity, along with ongoing projects, has reached more than 1.44 GW for IPP and more than 1.96 GW for CPP. The company is progressing towards its ambitious goal of 10 GW by 2030, demonstrating steady growth in the renewable energy sector.

Recent quarter results:

KPI Green Energy Limited’s revenue has increased from Rs. 330 crore in Q3 FY24 to Rs. 458 crore in Q3 FY25, which has grown by 38.79 percent. The net profit has also grown by 66.67 percent from Rs. 51 crore in Q3 FY24 to Rs. 85 crore in Q3 FY25.
