The newly listed stock Life Insurance Corporation of India or predominantly known as LIC has been one of the major investors in the Indian stock market. In fact, the public company holds 3.92 percent of NSE market capitalization as of June 2022 according to the data from Prime Database.

Ramco Cements Limited
LIC has increased its stake in Ramco Cements Limited to 8.29% in the latest quarter from 6.84% which it held in the previous quarter.
On Friday, the stock was up by 2% till the afternoon and was trading at Rs 751 levels. In the last five days, it has increased by approximately 2% and in a month it has gone up by 17%.
DCM Shriram Limited
LIC holds a 6.74% stake in DCM Shriram Limited as of June 2022. Previously in the March quarter, it’s holding in the company was less than 1%.
On Friday, the stock was up by 0.2% till the afternoon and was trading at Rs 1,051 levels. In the last five days, it has gained approximately 4% and in a month it is up by 10%.
Aarti Industries Limited
The statutory body increased its stake in Aarti Industries Limited to 6.61% in the latest quarter from 4.84% which it held in the previous quarter.
On Friday, the stock was up by 0.7% till the afternoon and was trading at Rs 815 levels. In the last five days, it has increased by approximately 4% and in a month it has gone up by 19%.
Voltas Limited
The insurance company increased its stake in Voltas Limited to 6.57% in the June quarter from 4.71% which it held in March.
On Friday, the stock was down by 2.6% till the afternoon and was trading at Rs 973 levels. In the last five days, it has shed approximately 3% and in a month it is up by 2%.
The other companies in which LIC increased its stake include Britannia Industries Ltd (6.19%), Divi’s Laboratories Ltd (3.71%), Atul Ltd (3.21%), MindTree Ltd (2.63%), Tata Coffee Ltd (2.26%) and Larsen & Toubro Infotech Ltd (2.14%).
Meanwhile, LIC trimmed over a 1 percent stake in stocks which include Integra Essentia Ltd (-3.2%), ICRA Ltd (-1.19%), UPL Ltd (-1.13%) and Bharat Dynamics Ltd (1.04%).
Power Grid Corporation, Minda Corp Ltd, GHCL Limited, Tamil Nadu Newsprint, and Oil India were some other companies, where LIC cut a stake in the June quarter.
