The President of India holds a stake in various companies. As per the data available for the September quarter (Q2FY23), the President publicly holds 73 stocks and has a net worth of over ₹ 20,14,334 Crores. The filings of a few companies for the latest quarter are awaited
A few companies in which the President holds more than a 90% stake are KIOCL Ltd. (99.00%), Punjab & Sind Bank (98.30%), Life Insurance Corporation of India (96.50%), Indian Overseas Bank (96.40%), UCO Bank (95.40%), HMT Ltd. (93.70%), Bank of Maharashtra (91.00%), and ITI Ltd. (90.10%).
The shares of three companies from the above list climbed more than 8% today:
Punjab and Sind Bank
The shares of this public sector bank are up for the third straight session. Its shares were quoting at ₹ 18.60 apiece, up 8.77% at 02:43 PM on Friday. The banking company saw high volumes on Friday’s session as 59,02,235 shares changed hands by 02:49 PM. The President of India holds a 98.3% stake in the company or 6,65,90,51,093 shares worth ₹ 12385.8 Crores.
Bank of Maharashtra Ltd
The Pune-based public sector bank’s shares were trading at ₹ 23.10 apiece, up 9.47% at 03:00 PM on Friday. Its shares have been on an uptrend for the last six months and they reached a fresh 52-week high of ₹ 23.15 apiece on Friday and more than 4,29,12,702 shares changed hands. The President of India holds a 90.01% stake in the company or 6,12,26,27,927 shares worth ₹ 13,990.2 Crores.
Indian Overseas Bank
The Chennai-based public sector bank’s shares rose 12.37% to quote at ₹ 21.80 apiece at 03:08 PM on Friday. Its share price has been consolidating in the range of 15.35 and 19.45 since February 2022.
More than 5,25,63,940 shares changed hands on Friday. The President of India holds a 96.4% stake in the company or 18,21,83,26,570 shares worth ₹ 38,987.2 Crores.
