Superior health and safety protection solutions provider Ansell has unveiled its Go Live Ansell Kovai, packing and irradiation operations in the country set up at an investment of about USD 80 million, a top official said on Friday.

The facility at Perundurai in Erode district would initially focus on manufacturing surgical and life sciences products and industrial products later, company managing director and chief executive officer Neil Salmon said.

In July 2021, Chief Minister M K Stalin had taken part in the foundation stone laying ceremony at the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT) industrial growth centre.

The manufacuting unit has been designed with ability to take up capacity expansion in future, accommodate products of Ansell including glove line, Salmon told reporters here.

On completion of the project, Ansell Kovai would be spread across 43,000 sq metres and would have a post processing building, warehouse, packaging facility among others.

With 10 to 15 per cent year-on-year growth in the gloves sector, about 70 per cent of the production from the plant would be used to serve domestic market and later overseas, he said. PTI NVM VIJ SS
