New Delhi, Dec 20 (PTI) Crude oil prices on Monday fell by Rs 206 to Rs 5,192 per barrel after participants cut their positions.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for January delivery dropped by Rs 206, or 3.82 per cent, to Rs 5,192 per barrel with a business volume of 5,147 lots.

Analysts said the fall in crude oil futures was due to the trimming of positions by traders amid a weak spot demand.

However, globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil was trading 3.63 per cent higher at USD 68.29 per barrel.

Meanwhile, Brent crude, the international benchmark, gained 3.33 per cent to trade at USD 71.07 per barrel in New York. PTI SHW RUJ RUJ
