New Delhi, Dec 21 (PTI) Crude oil prices on Tuesday rose by Rs 77 to Rs 5,225 per barrel as participants widened their positions on a firm spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for January delivery traded higher by Rs 77, or 1.5 per cent, to Rs 5,225 per barrel in 4,924 lots.
Analysts said raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade.
Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil was trading higher by 0.61 per cent at USD 68.72 per barrel, while Brent crude traded 0.21 per cent down at USD 71.37 per barrel in New York. PTI SHW RUJ RUJ
