New Delhi, Dec 23 (PTI) Crude oil prices on Thursday fell by Rs 2 to Rs 5,466 per barrel after participants cut their positions.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for January delivery dropped by Rs 2, or 0.04 per cent, to Rs 5,466 per barrel with a business volume of 6,650 lots.

Analysts said the fall in crude oil futures was due to trimming of positions by traders amid a weak spot demand.

However, globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil was trading 0.34 per cent lower at USD 72.51 per barrel.

Meanwhile, Brent crude, the international benchmark, was quoting 0.35 per cent lower to trade at USD 75.03 per barrel in New York. PTI SHW RUJ RUJ
