New Delhi, Dec 28 (PTI) Crude oil prices on Tuesday rose by Rs 14 to Rs 5,687 per barrel as participants widened their positions on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for January delivery traded higher by Rs 14, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 5,687 per barrel in 8,942 lots.

Analysts said the raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil was trading 0.53 per cent higher at USD 75.97 per barrel, while Brent crude traded 0.42 per cent up at USD 78.93 per barrel in New York. PTI RUJ BAL BAL
