New Delhi, Dec 30 (PTI) Crude oil prices on Thursday fell by Rs 10 to Rs 5,693 per barrel after participants cut their positions.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for the January delivery dropped by Rs 10, or 0.18 per cent, to Rs 5,693 per barrel with a business volume of 8,723 lots.

Analysts said the fall in crude oil futures was due to trimming of positions by traders amid a weak spot demand.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil was trading 0.31 per cent lower at USD 76.32 per barrel.

Meanwhile, Brent crude, the international benchmark, was quoting 0.29 per cent lower to trade at USD 79 per barrel in New York. PTI RUJ HRS hrs
