New Delhi, Jan 10 (PTI) Crude oil prices on Monday rose Rs 12 to Rs 5,838 per barrel as participants widened their positions on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for the February delivery traded higher by Rs 12, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 5,838 per barrel in 1,411 lots.

Analysts said raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in the futures trade.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil was trading 0.10 per cent higher at USD 78.98 per barrel, while Brent crude traded 0.16 per cent up at USD 81.88 per barrel in New York. PTI RUJ HRS hrs
