New Delhi, Jan 17 (PTI) Crude oil prices on Monday rose Rs 17 to Rs 6,235 per barrel as participants widened their positions on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for the January delivery traded higher by Rs 17, or 0.27 per cent, to Rs 6,235 per barrel in 7,650 lots.

Analysts said raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in the futures trade.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil was trading flat at USD 83.82 per barrel, while Brent crude traded 0.34 per cent down at USD 85.77 per barrel in New York. PTI RUJ RUJ HRS hrs
