New Delhi, Jan 27 (PTI) Crude oil prices rose Rs 200 to Rs 6,578 per barrel on Thursday as participants widened their positions on a firm spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for the February delivery traded higher by Rs 200, or 3.14 per cent, to Rs 6,578 per barrel in 12,877 lots.
Analysts said raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in the futures trade.
Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil declined 0.17 per cent to USD 87.20 per barrel, while Brent crude traded 0.12 per cent lower at USD 89.85 per barrel in New York. PTI RUJ HRS hrs
