New Delhi, Feb 17 (PTI) Crude oil prices fell Rs 77 to Rs 6,970 per barrel on Thursday after participants reduced their positions.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for the February delivery dropped by Rs 77, or 1.09 per cent, to Rs 6,970 per barrel with a business volume of 2,952 lots.

Analysts said the fall in crude oil futures was due to the trimming of positions by traders amid a weak spot demand.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil was trading 0.88 per cent lower at USD 92.84 per barrel.

Meanwhile, international benchmark Brent crude oil was quoting 0.63 per cent lower to trade at USD 94.21 per barrel in New York. PTI RUJ HRS hrs
