New Delhi, Dec 20 (PTI) Gold prices on Monday fell by Rs 202 to Rs 48,392 per 10 gram in futures trade as speculators reduced their positions amid low demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold contracts for February traded lower by Rs 202, or 0.42 per cent, to Rs 48,392 per 10 gram in a business turnover of 8,640 lots.

Analysts attributed the fall in gold prices to trimming of positions by participants.

Globally, gold traded 0.37 per cent lower at USD 1,798.20 an ounce in New York. PTI SHW RUJ RUJ
