Of the 64,500+ job openings posted on the online platform Naukri.com in the month of December 2025, 70 percent of the job openings were related to Artificial Intelligence (AI). As per CBRE reports, Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR and Mumbai are the top cities with most AI-related job openings. CBRE noted that the data does not capture the full AI labour market in India, but it provides a clear indication that the bulk of demand across sectors is concentrated in these three cities.

Bengaluru

Bengaluru s the largest tech talent hub in the Asia-Pacific region with its tech workforce exceeding 1 million. Bengaluru emerged as the leading centre for AI recruitment, commanding 25.4% of openings tagged with AI on the online portal. It is largely considered the epicentre in terms of AI investment in India. It is the most developed AI ecosystem of the country, with the greatest concentration of startups, the most capital infused in venture capital and a huge amount of AI talent.

1,500+ AI startups and deep-tech startups, both the largest in India. Lures almost 35-40 per cent of all start-up funds in India. There are more than 28 unicorns in the city. A key driver of its growth is the presence of leading educational institutions and Global Capability Centres (GCCs) making it a deep talent pool.

Delhi–NCR

Delhi-NCR holds 24.8% share of AI job postings. Accommodates 1,000+ technical startups, and it is highly represented in AI-based fintech, e-commerce and logistics. Gurugram is home to many consumer-tech and enterprise SaaS firms based on AI. Delhi-NCR is a leader in commercial AI implementation in: Fintech & digital lending, retail analytics & e-commerce, Optimization of supply chain / logistics, Edtech & HR automation

Mumbai

Mumbai accounted for 19.2% of job postings. Mumbai is becoming a primary AI investment hub that is especially fueled by corporate headquarters, financial services and fintech innovation. Examples of strong AI applications are: Fraud detection, Credit risk modeling, Algorithmic trading, Customer analytics. Fintech startups using AI are rapidly growing in the city.

Other Top Cities

Hyderabad accounted for 12.5% of AI jobs making it an extremely fast developing AI investment hub in India followed by Pune at 9.6%, Chennai at 6.4% and Kolkata at 2.1%, the report said.

The strongest job demand is currently in the field of engineering including software development and quality assurance, along with data science and analytics positions like Data Analysts, Business Intelligence Analysts, Marketing Analysts etc. Customer success, service and operations functions also feature prominently, reflecting broader adoption of AI-enabled solutions across industries.

Other Tier-2 also rising in terms of job opportunities include Ahmedabad and Jaipur are emerging as promising and cost-effective tech markets. Ahmedabad’s growth in software, IT services, and fintech is supported by large infrastructure projects like the 22 million sq. ft. Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City), which will host 550 companies and employ over 20,000 people. Jaipur, with its strong educational institutions and lower costs, is attracting both startups and domestic IT firms, especially those looking for a more affordable alternative to expensive hubs like Delhi-NCR.
