Synopsis: Denta Water and Infra Solutions has secured two irrigation contracts worth a combined ₹65.56 crore in Karnataka, strengthening its already healthy ₹727.8 crore order book and supporting management’s FY27 revenue growth guidance of 20–25 percent.
India’s water infrastructure sector continues to witness strong government spending under schemes such as Jal Jeevan Mission, AMRUT 2.0 and Swachh Bharat. Rising investments in irrigation, sewage treatment and groundwater recharge projects are creating long-term opportunities for specialised EPC players like Denta Water.
Shares of Denta Water and Infra Solutions Ltd, with a market capitalisation of Rs. 924 crore, were trading at Rs. 346.10, up 1.6 percent in Monday’s trade. The stock remains nearly 27.8 percent below its 52-week high of Rs. 479.60 but has surged around 55.9 percent from its 52-week low of Rs. 222.00.
What’s the News?
Denta Water informed exchanges on July 21, 2026, that it has received a Letter of Acceptance from Karnataka Neeravari Nigam Limited (KNNL) worth ₹20.89 crore, including GST. The contract involves improvements to lift irrigation infrastructure and associated canal systems in Ballari district, Karnataka.
The order is structured on a turnkey basis and includes a five-year operations and maintenance component after project completion, providing the company with additional long-term recurring revenue visibility beyond the construction phase.
Separately, the company also secured a subcontract from JNS Infra Projects worth ₹44.67 crore, including GST, for restoration works under the Jalibenchi Lift Irrigation Scheme in Ballari district. Both projects carry an execution timeline of around eleven months.
The twin orders are part of Karnataka’s broader irrigation infrastructure development programme and further deepen Denta Water’s relationship with state agencies. The company clarified that neither contract involves promoter-group entities or related parties.
Financial & Business Analysis
The combined order inflow of ₹65.56 crore represents a meaningful addition to Denta Water’s existing order book of approximately ₹727.8 crore as of March 31, 2026, equivalent to nearly three times its FY26 revenue, providing strong execution visibility over the coming years.
For FY26, the company reported revenue from operations of ₹250.4 crore, up 23 percent year-on-year, while PAT increased to ₹60.9 crore. Management highlighted its virtually debt-free balance sheet and disciplined execution model as key strengths supporting future expansion.
Despite healthy revenue growth, margins faced pressure during Q4 due to elevated raw material costs, particularly PVC and HDPE pipes, whose prices rose following geopolitical disruptions in global petroleum markets. EBITDA margins declined sharply during the quarter, reflecting these temporary cost pressures.
Management nevertheless remains confident of maintaining EBITDA margins within a 25 – 30 percent range in FY27 while guiding for at least 20 – 25 percent revenue growth. Additionally, the company is currently bidding for projects worth nearly ₹600 crore, which could further replenish its order pipeline.
The management also expects government payment cycles to normalise from July-August onwards following administrative delays, potentially improving working capital and cash conversion during the second half of FY27.
Industry & Strategic Analysis
Denta Water has positioned itself as an integrated water infrastructure player spanning the entire water cycle, including extraction, supply, sewage collection, treatment, and groundwater recharge. This integrated approach differentiates it from traditional EPC contractors focused solely on project execution.
The company is increasingly focusing on sewage treatment projects and has reportedly secured multiple treatment-related assignments across several Karnataka cities. Adoption of advanced treatment technologies and long-term O&M contracts could gradually improve earnings quality and create annuity-like revenue streams.
While Karnataka remains the company’s primary market, management has started evaluating opportunities in Madhya Pradesh and Odisha, which could reduce geographical concentration risks over the medium term. However, execution in new states will remain important monitorable.
A significant proportion of Denta’s business remains linked to government spending programmes such as Jal Jeevan Mission and AMRUT 2.0. Continued policy support and infrastructure allocations should remain strong tailwinds, although payment delays and raw material volatility continue to be key sector risks.
