New Delhi, Dec 31 (PTI) Silver prices on Friday rose Rs 50 to Rs 62,210 per kg in the futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for the March delivery gained Rs 50, or 0.08 per cent, to Rs 62,210 per kg in 11,181 lots.

Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mostly due to fresh positions built by participants on a positive domestic trend.

Globally, silver was trading 0.56 per cent higher at USD 23.19 per ounce in New York. PTI RUJ HRS hrs
