New Delhi, Jan 12 (PTI) Crude oil prices on Wednesday rose Rs 50 to Rs 6,054 per barrel as participants widened their positions on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for the January delivery traded higher by Rs 50, or 0.83 per cent, to Rs 6,054 per barrel in 11,423 lots.

Analysts said raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in the futures trade.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil was trading 0.60 per cent higher at USD 81.71 per barrel, while Brent crude traded 0.43 per cent up at USD 84.08 per barrel in New York. PTI RUJ HRS hrs
