New Delhi, Mar 7 (PTI) Crude oil prices rose by Rs 1,005 to Rs 9,585 per barrel on Monday as participants widened their positions on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for March delivery traded higher by Rs 1,005 or 11.71 per cent to Rs 9,585 per barrel in 11,324 lots.

Analysts said raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in the futures trade.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil was up by 7.49 per cent to USD 124.34 per barrel, while Brent crude traded 7.89 per cent higher at USD 127.43 per barrel in New York. PTI RUJ SHW SHW
